Richard Metzger, PhD

Dr. Metzger’s background is in Cognitive Psychology with over 40 years of teaching and research experience. He specializes in understanding how people perceive, process, and remember complex information. Dr. Metzger uses his background to help our clients understand how jurors react to case information and arrive at a verdict. Dr. Metzger has worked with Dr. Ross for many years providing trail consulting services, including case strategy, witness preparation, and mock trials.

Dr. Metzger completed his training in Psychology as an undergraduate at Muskingum College and earned his Masters and PhD at the University of North Dakota. He served as the Department Head at Mercer University and Chair at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for a total of 18 years.

Dr. Metzger has also studied the cognitive changes that accompany breast cancer treatment. This has provided Dr. Metzger insight into handling any case that involves medical or scientific information. Additionally, Dr. Metzger has worked with state agencies, public and private organizations, offering program evaluation, data analysis, and quality control. This has provided Dr. Metzger knowledge that is beneficial in handling cases that involve contract disputes, discrimination and workplace issues.
