Jury selection
Our philosophy is that while it is rarely the situation that a case can be won in jury selection, it can easily be lost. Our approach is to “deselect” jurors by eliminating what we call “power jurors” defined as individuals that if on the jury are likely to persuade the rest of their jury to adopt his or her position. If that person goes against our client—the result is a loss. We prevent that from happening by using our scientifically based techniques to eliminate power jurors.
We monitor juror comprehension at trial
It is important to know if jurors are following the story line being told at trial. This can be accomplished by having us monitor comprehension as it unfolds, or using a “shadow jury”, a group of individuals who fit the demographic profile of the actual jury. The shadow jury watch the trial while we periodically assess their comprehension of the case material.
